Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Shenzhen Benwei Wujie Technology Co., Ltd. (registered address: 2201B, International Culture Building, No. 3039 Shennan Middle Road, Funan Community, Futian Subdistrict, Futian District, Shenzhen; “we,” “us,” or “our”) understands the importance of personal information to you. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use Violoop (the “App” or the “Service”), as well as the rights you have regarding your personal information.
Please read and understand this Policy carefully before using the Service, especially the clauses marked in bold. We will process your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Cybersecurity Law of the People’s Republic of China, and other laws and regulations.
2. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information
We collect and use your personal information only within the scope necessary to deliver the following features:
2.1 Registration and Login
When you log in using a third-party account (Google, Apple), we collect the account identifier the platform provides to us (such as your unique user identifier and the email you have authorized for disclosure) as well as the account identifier generated by the authentication service, used to create and manage your account.
2.2 AI Conversation and Voice Dictation
- When you use the voice feature, we process your voice content and transcribe it into text;
- When you interact with the AI assistant, we collect the conversation content you input or dictate, used to generate replies and provide the Service to you.
The above voice and conversation content is sent to the third-party service providers that provide us with AI and speech-recognition capabilities for processing; see Section 4.
2.3 Device Management and Remote Control
- The device identifiers and configuration information of the controlled devices you actively add, used to display and manage the devices;
- When you initiate remote control, the relevant screen images and control instructions are transmitted in real time between your device and the controlled device to enable real-time screen transmission and mouse/keyboard control.
2.4 Messages, Schedules, and Push Notifications
We store your message records and schedule information to provide the corresponding features. To send you notifications, we collect the device push identifier generated by the push service (such as the FCM Token).
2.5 Device and Log Information
To ensure the secure and stable operation of the Service and to troubleshoot, we may collect necessary device information (such as device model, operating system version, and app version) and log information.
2.6 Audio and Video Capture Capabilities of the Violoop Device
To deliver the core features of the Service, the Violoop hardware device has the following external capture (sensing) capabilities. We disclose them explicitly so that you are aware of what the device can technically capture and can adjust your use accordingly:
- Video capture (HDMI input): The device captures the image of the video source you actively connect via the HDMI interface (such as the screen of a computer or another device), used for screen analysis and related features. The device has no camera and does not record the surrounding environment or people; it captures only the HDMI signal source you connect. You can stop video capture at any time by disconnecting the HDMI connection.
- Audio capture (microphone): The device captures sound through the built-in microphone and performs local speech-to-text for voice interaction features. You can stop audio capture through the mute method provided by the device.
The captured content is processed and protected in accordance with Sections 4 and 6 of this Policy; voice content may be sent to third-party speech-recognition providers for transcription (see Section 4). Data retained locally on the device can be cleared via the device’s “factory reset” function.
2.7 Information We Do Not Collect
Your biometric information (fingerprint/face) is used only for local device unlocking, is processed locally by your device’s operating system, and we do not collect, store, or upload it. Sensitive data such as login credentials is stored locally through your device’s secure storage mechanism.
3. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App mainly uses on-device local storage (such as secure storage and preference settings) and the device identifiers described above to maintain login status, remember your preferences, and ensure the security of the Service. We will not use them for purposes other than those described in this Policy.
4. How We Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Personal Information
4.1 Entrusted Processing (Third-Party Service Providers)
To deliver the Service’s features, we engage the following types of third-party service providers to process the corresponding personal information, and require them by agreement to process it in accordance with this Policy and legal requirements:
| Type of Third Party | Purpose of Processing | Information Involved |
|---|---|---|
| AI large-model service providers (OpenAI / Anthropic / Google, etc.) | Generating conversation replies | Conversation content, transcribed text |
| Speech-recognition service providers (such as Google Speech-to-Text / Whisper, etc.) | Speech-to-text | Voice content |
| Identity authentication services (Firebase / Google Sign-In, Apple Sign in with Apple) | Login and account management | Account identifiers |
| Push service (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | Sending notifications | Device push identifier |
| Real-time communication / signaling services (such as WebRTC signaling servers) | Real-time transmission for device remote control | Connection signaling, control instructions |
4.2 Transfer and Public Disclosure
Except as required by laws and regulations, with your separate consent, or to protect the lawful rights and interests of you and others, or to cooperate with the lawful requests of judicial or administrative authorities, we will not transfer or publicly disclose your personal information to third parties.
5. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information
Some of the third-party services on which the Service relies (such as AI, identity authentication, and push notifications) may be provided by service providers located outside the People’s Republic of China, and the corresponding personal information may be transferred abroad for processing. The main recipients and their locations include:
- United States: OpenAI, LP (AI large model); Anthropic, PBC (AI large model); Google LLC (identity authentication, speech recognition, push service Firebase); Apple Inc. (identity authentication)
Before any cross-border transfer, we will fulfill our notification obligations as required by law, obtain your separate consent, and, in accordance with legal requirements, conduct a personal information protection impact assessment and adopt necessary protective measures (including requiring recipients to sign standard contractual clauses).
6. How We Store and Protect Personal Information
6.1 Retention period: We retain your personal information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy, unless otherwise provided by laws and regulations. After this period, we will delete or anonymize it.
6.2 Security measures: We adopt security measures consistent with industry standards to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS), access control, and secure local storage of sensitive data, to prevent information from being accessed, disclosed, altered, or lost without authorization.
6.3 In the event of a personal information security incident, we will promptly notify you and report to the relevant authorities in accordance with the law.
6.4 Security and privacy event logs on the device: To support security auditing and incident investigation, the Violoop device persistently retains security- and privacy-related event logs (such as the start and stop of audio/video capture, data export, and data deletion). These logs record metadata only (who, when, which action, which asset) and never the captured content itself. The device retains at least the most recent 5,000 such events, and under normal operation no fewer than 30 days, whichever comes first; older events are rolled off automatically. These logs are stored on the device and are cleared on a factory reset.
7. Your Rights
In accordance with applicable law, you have the following rights regarding your personal information, which you may exercise through the in-app “Settings” or the contact methods set out in this Policy:
- access and copy your personal information;
- correct or supplement inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
- delete your personal information (in statutory circumstances);
- withdraw consent you previously gave (withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out based on consent before the withdrawal);
- deregister your account: after deregistration we will delete or anonymize your personal information in accordance with the law;
- request that we explain our personal information processing rules.
We will respond to your request within a reasonable period; where verification of your identity is required by law, please cooperate.
8. Protection of Minors
The Service is primarily intended for adults. If you are a minor, please use the Service and provide personal information accompanied by and with the consent of your guardian. If we discover that we have collected a minor’s personal information without the guardian’s consent, we will delete it as soon as possible.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes that affect your personal information rights and interests, we will prominently bring them to your attention through in-app notices, re-requesting consent, or other means. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect is deemed acceptance of the updated Policy.
